How many bricks required for 12×12 feet room | how many bricks required for 12×12 square feet room if wall is made of half brick wall | how many bricks required for 12×12 square feet room if wall is made of double brick thick wall.

When you are think about starting and new projects of brick structure as external and internal partition wall in the house, boundaries for Garden, retaining wall, brick pier, etc, one of the toughest aspect is determining how many bricks you will need, ordering few bricks make delay in construction for over ordering make loss of money that increases your estimate for construction.

How many bricks do you need for 12×12 feet room? You will need to multiply the length in meter of the wall in meter by the height to get the area in m2. Multiply that square metres by 60 to get the number of bricks you should need, then add 10% for wastage. For a 144 sq ft room (12×12 feet), you will need 27,00 bricks to make a single skin brick wall.

There are two types of brick wall: 1) Single skin brick wall, and 2) Double skin wall. Single skin wall that is made of single layer of bricks also called half brick wall. For single skin brick wall, you will need 60 bricks per square meter + 10% extra as wastage in transportation and storage. Double skin wall is made of double layers of brick wall, this will require 120 nos bricks per square meter + 10% extra.

The formula for total number of bricks in single skin wall = Length in meter × Wall height in meter × 60 + 10% extra. The formula for total number of bricks in double skin wall = Length in meter × Wall height in meter × 120 + 10% extra.

Most used bricks in the UK are made to a standard brick size of 215mm long, 102.5mm wide and 65mm tall (215mm x 102.5mm x 65mm) and laid with a nominal 10mm mortar joint. This is standard size of brick in UK.

If we calculate singular layer brick wall with regular brick and mortar sizes. You will need to multiply the length of the wall by the height in meter to get the area in square meter. Multiply that area in square meter by 60 to get the number of bricks you should need, then add 10% for wastage.

You have given 12×12 feet room, which have 4 walls, to calculate area of your 4 walls, you need to multiply perimeter to height of room.

Here, Length of room = 12 foot, Width of room = 12 foot, Height of room = 10 foot, So, Area of 12×12 feet room = 2(12 + 12) × 10 foot = 480 square feet. Suppose door size = 7×3 = 21 sq ft,

Window size = 4×3 =12 sq ft, ventilation size = 1×1 =1 sq ft, total deduction = 21+12+1= 34 sq ft,

Net area of wall having brick = 480 ft 2_ 34ft2= 446 sq ft

As we know 1m2 = 10.764 sq ft, so, you can convert 446 square feet into square meters = 446 ÷ 10.764 = 41 square meters. Thus your Net area of wall of 12×12 feet room having brick = 41m2.

The Total no. of bricks for single skin wall = 41 × 60 + 10% = 2460 + 10% of 2460 = 2460 + 246 = 2706, round to Nealy 2700 nos bricks.

The Total no. of bricks for double skin wall = 41 × 120 + 10% = 4920 + 10% of 4920 = 4920 + 492 = 5412, round to Nealy 5400 nos bricks.

For a 12×12 feet room (144 sq ft), you will need 2700 nos bricks to make a single skin brick wall. If you want to make double skin wall, then you would need approximately 5400 nos bricks for a 12×12 foot room.
